We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable middle-weight PHP Web Developer / Programmer to join our team. To hit the ground running, current agency experience is essential.
Ideally you have at least 3 years of commercial web development industry experience, and familiar with working in a client service environment.
Not only do you need to be a great communicator, you are responsible, well organised, with an excellent attention to detail. You appreciate the importance of meeting deadlines and be prepared to do what is required to meet them.
The Role
You’ll work closely with the Project Manager, Web Designer and Junior Developer and be required to work on multiple projects at the same time.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Web project scoping & quoting
• coding & testing websites developed
• working with another programmer and designer on projects
Skills Required
• Strong HTML skills (XML skills highly regarded)
• Good understanding with TCP/IP, HTTP
• Good understanding of HTML, XML, DHTML, Javascript, Ajax, CSS, ASP, MySQL, PHP, SOAP
• Familiar with Window and Unix OS
• Database and form validation experience
• Knowledge of W3C standards
• Good client relationship skills
• 3+ years commercial web development experience
• Object Oriented development experience
It would be highly advantageous to have:
• Demonstrated business analysis and project planning skills with small to medium web development projects
• Open Source CMS experience such as Drupal/Mambo/Joomla
• Familiarity with best practice SEO implementation

The state government has just announced that it is committing a huge amount of resources to boosting broadband connections for regional and outer metro areas of Australia. The commitment includes $1.1 billion to deliver better broadband services now and $2 billion invested to secure services into the future.
This is great news for the regional areas like ours where getting access to broadband is patchy outside of the town areas. As part of this program if you still cannot access broadband there are subsidies available of either $2750 for satellite broadband or $1100 for wireless or ADSL broadband.
If you're not on broadband yet you're missing out on much of the rich content that websites can deliver. Call your Internet Service Provider today and ask if they can hook you up! |

Blue Square Design recently won a contract to produce the Official Visitors Guide for Macedon Ranges tourism.
This publication is the main tourism information source for visitors to the region and will be very similar in format to the Gisborne and Woodend Guides that we produce each year. We will manage the entire project, on behalf of the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, from selling the advertising space, designing the layout, producing the ads and managing the printing.

Our team of talented designers and coders keeps growing and because of the increasing number of Melbourne clients we service, we have decided to open a second location in Coventry Street, South Melbourne.
Our web development team will be based here sharing space with a good friend of ours that runs the best Search Engine Optimisation business in the country. So it's a very good fit for both of us!
The print design team will continue operating from our Gisborne office but we can now provide easier access to our services for our Melbourne client base.

The printers made it up the stairs and the broadband is reconnected so that means the office relocation is complete!
Located upstairs at Level 1, 11A Hamilton Street, Gisborne (entry via undercover driveway) we now have the space to continue the growth of our business and further improve on our design services.
We've got plenty of desks for all our staff with great space for client meetings and the balcony is going to be lovely in the warmer months!
We have also have a couple of new team members joining us in the next 2 weeks so don't be surprised if you hear a new voice on the other end of the phone. Introductions will follow...

Suzuki Motorcycles Australia now has a new home. The team at Blue Square Design recently launched a new Australian corporate website for Suzuki Motorcycles featuring their entire range of 50 plus models including Road bikes, Off-Road bikes, Scooters, Cruisers and ATV's.
The database driven site incorporates technology such as content management and has an interface incorporating flash animation to display the dynamic nature of the motorcycle content.

Motorcycles are made up of many parts and if you ride them they are bound require replacement parts at some stage. Based on this simple premise Bolton Motorcycles has built a reputation in Australia for being the largest dealer for KTM motorcycle spare parts. Selling not only KTM motorcycles but also the Honda and Suzuki brands along with Stihl, Husqvarna and Toro in Power Equipment.
