Blue Square Design cares about the environment we live in so we are working towards becoming “carbon neutral”.
What does being carbon neutral mean?
Everyone knows our planet is warming up and this is caused by greenhouse gas emissions that are generated by the cars we drive, the paper we print, the electricity we use to run our computers etc.
The idea of being carbon neutral requires two steps:
- First, is to reduce our impact on global warming by cutting our greenhouse gas emissions. This includes things like changing our light globes to compact fluros or switching our computers off at the powerpoint when go home at night. We’ve already implemented most of these changes in our working environment.
- The second step to being truly carbon neutral is to make our impact zero. This means we completely offset the reduced amount of greenhouse gases we emit by planting trees that absorb carbon dioxide. There are a few ways to do this including getting your hands dirty or buying “carbon credits” but that’s another story again!
We aren’t carbon neutral yet but we are working towards it.
We encourage our clients to do the same by proposing environmentally friendly print products over ones that are not kind to the environment. We now have a range of print products that use 100% recycled paper and we've taken one step further by printing them using Australia's first accredited carbon neutral printer.
